「ロックマンX8」Rockman X8 Playthrough (JAP) — Part 4, Metal Valley - Earthrock Torirovich
Let’s continue our journey.
This is one of my favorite stages in X8 (next to Ice-Snow Yetinger’s stage). It’s also a really good stage for farming outside of Intermissions (although that farming is pretty much braindead way to get the stuff, but it’s much faster).
We start out with a giant mechaniloid starting to cha--- My God, why does my emulator do this... This thing does NOT suppose to shine like that. But, at the very least, this shine is better than it could’ve been without me making some adjustments in the graphics section of pcsx2 emulator. The problem here might also me in my graphics card but I’m not sure about this one.
OK, we’re being chased. There’s a lot of garbage coming our way too so we need to jump and shoot\slice the enemies in order to not lose our pase. Axl is not really good here, but he’s starting to become an absolute unbeatable god here (not even being stunned after getting the damage) so I chose him and Zero as I can’t get to the capsule until I’ve beaten Burn Kokekkoker. You will need to have X if you want to go through the first section of this stage smoothly, but I don’t use combination of Zero and Axl here as often so I decided to let the boys have fun together. I didn’t have enough X7 in my life already, I suppose.
But you’ll need Axl if you want to farm for a while. I didn’t farm in this recording, but you can look up how does that proccess look like on YouTube.
We’ll need to hit this things head multiple times once we meet a dead end with a crane on the top. Here we hit it three times with it and giant mechaniloid will go back to its place and now WE need to chase it down! Sweet revenge, isn’t it?
(Also I needed to actually replay this stage three times with different navigators to get all of the dialogues here. You’re welcome.)
You’ll stumble upon some bumps on your way while chasing the thing down, but if you’re quick and (or slow. You can be slow here) careful - you should be fine.
Then there’s a mid-boss - main boss summoning Crystal Walls and moving them towards us. You can stand on them and you can touch them, but don’t let them press you against the walls or against other crystals. In previous playthroughs, I was always getting VAVA here as my mid-boss. It’s not a really good place for that kind of fight and you’ll soon understand why when I’ll be nearing the Jacob. Anyways, after we’re done with jumping over the crystals, we meet our old friend - that giant Mechaniloid we were just chasing minutes ago! This fight works the same way as the previous one where we used a crane to hit it, but now we have two crains and Mechaniloid is much more active now. My problems with it were its arm attacks (hitting them on the very ground we’re walking on right now, to be exact). Yous try to not stay on the ground when it does so, although it doesn’t work all the time, at least for me.
We finally reach our main opponent - Earthrock Torirovich. He sounds funny and looks funny without his armor but I can imagine him being hard without his weakness (which doesn’t let him wear his armor). If you have X on your team (with an armor I may add), don’t use charged Squeeze Bomb. He doesn’t get hit with fully charged literal black hole for some reason, like some other enemies. Why do you even make a charged version of this thing that is practically useless?...
And Torirovich gets the award for having the most useless Overdrive, btw. It’s not even that hard to dodge and it’s not even a minor annoyance. I had more problems with his attack that will be a base for Axl’s Bound Blaster and with Crystals Walls when I was using Zero or X (Crystal Walls absorb the Squeeze Bomb and you have a risk of hitting the wall while performing Juuhazan (although you’ll break the wall faster than it falls if you’re quick enough).
But eventually, we defeat the guy with Double Attack so we can finish him of with style and go back to the base.
Since it was a 4th stage for me, we get a cut-scene where Alia tells us the result of New Generation Repliroids’ data analysis. Turns out, they all have Sigma’s DNA inside their Copy Chips. Now, Sigma is officially back. Who would’ve guessed. Let’s clear up this mess as soon as possible now.
