Why are conflicts in Africa not given the same media coverage as the war in Ukraine? Ethiopia was the world’s most deadly conflict last year, with 100,000 killed, according to the non-profit Peace Research Institute Oslo. Ukraine was second, with around 80,000 deaths. Both shocking figures, but it was the East European country that consistently grabbed Western headlines.
