cats first time on catnip

Catnip plants (Nepeta cataria and other Nepeta species) are members of the mint family and contain volatile oils, sterols, acids and tannins. Native to Europe, Asia and Africa, the plant was brought to North America by settlers; nowadays, the plant is popular in herb gardens and grows widely as a weed. P.S The leaves and stems of the catnip plant contain an oil called “nepetalactone.“ When cats smell nepetalactone, it stimulates special receptors that sense chemicals called “pheromones.“ The result is a kind of chemical reaction that gives the cat a sense of euphoria or overwhelming happiness. So stop calling this a drug or crack i will report your message this isnt abuse! (catnip only lasts 10 mins give only small amounts)
