Why Is The US So BIG? #shorts Transcript: Why is the United States so big? Well, the US got most of its land after its independence in 1776. At first, it didn’t look quite right, so they decided to change things up. They made a deal with France, known as the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 for $15 million. Next, they acquired Florida from Spain in 1819. Texas was their next target, as it was independent, so the US invaded it in 1845 and added to their territory. Then, there was a treaty with the UK, called the Oregon treaty that was signed on June 15, 1846. Then they also fought with Mexico and gained some more and more lands. Bringing it back home, Alaska was very important, and Russia sold it to the USA at only $7.2 million, by the way, Russia still regrets this decision. Lastly, they decided to annex the Hawaiian Kingdom on January 16, 1893, just to have a few drinks and relax at the beaches. #us #usa #russia #france #spain #louisiana #florida #purchase #treaty #texas #uk #oregon #mexico #alaska #hawaiiankingdom #hawaii #geography #geographyfacts #history #historyfacts #conflict #war #countries #map #coggnize
